IBS makes a mark in Cargo Revenue Accounting
India's leading carrier, Kingfisher Airlines and Air Astana, the national carrier of Kazakhstan, are live with the industry's most modern Cargo Revenue Accounting system - iCargo CRA. Ever since the successful cut over at Japan's Nippon Cargo Airlines in April 2008, iCargo CRA is well on its way to becoming the industry's most preferred revenue accounting solution for cargo carrying airlines. Later this year, two other major airlines, Air New Zealand and Austrian Airlines will migrate to iCargo CRA from their current legacy cargo revenue accounting systems.
iCargo CRA, the next-generation Cargo Revenue Accounting system, is built on proven new-generation technology and application architecture. Being a cost effective and simple to implement solution, it can be easily interfaced to effectively work with any airline cargo system. iCargo CRA with its extended functional coverage is truly the most comprehensive modern cargo revenue accounting system in the world. The functionality offered by iCargo CRA includes Flown Processing, Export Billing (both CASS and non-CASS), Sales Reporting, Import Billing, Interline Inward Billing and Rejections, Interline Outward Billing, ICH settlements, Mail Accounting, Proration, Accounting and Management Reports.
iCargo CRA, when implemented with IBS' iCargo Airline (the airline cargo management system), provides a single seamless solution that ensures one time data entry, up-front rating during booking and early view of shipment profitability. By using a single source of information from reservations to final accounting, the solutions focus on accuracy of information and timely billing, resulting in enhanced revenue protection and cost efficiencies.
IBS had also announced recently that leading low-cost Indian airline SpiceJet, has now started using IBS' new-generation cargo management system, iCargo Lite. With iCargo Lite, a part of IBS’ iCargo solution suite, SpiceJet has automated its cargo business processes to support its aggressive expansion plans for its domestic cargo operations. SpiceJet becomes the first Indian LCC to use this high-end business solution.
bmi & SriLankan choose iFly to manage their Loyalty programs
Heathrow’s second largest airline and Star Alliance member bmi has selected iFly Loyalty, a product line under IBS’ iFly solution suite, to manage the loyalty programs for its passengers. iFly Loyalty will enable bmi to better integrate with other Star Alliance member airlines. iFly Loyalty will support bmi’s loyalty programs, including Diamond Club, Highflyers and Company Rewards. Juliet Hutchin, Head of Loyalty at bmi said “For the first time, we will have a single customer database housing all of our loyalty programs and a great system which equips us with the tools to deepen the relationship we have with our customers. With the capability and flexibility of iFly Loyalty, we’ll really be able to unlock the revenue generating potential of our loyalty programs through personalized customer communication and highly targeted campaign activity.”
SriLankan Airlines, the national carrier of Sri Lanka has also opted for iFly Loyalty for handling its loyalty management system. iFly Loyalty will support the new frequent flyer program FlySmiles. SriLankan Airlines’ Head of Worldwide Sales Mohamed Fazeel said, “SriLankan frequent flyer programme gives members so many ways to earn points. Travellers can earn points throughout their journey through our network of no less than ten globally reputed partners, among them are co-branded credit cards, airlines, hotels, spas, car rentals, and phone companies. It is extremely important to have the very best support system, and we are pleased to have IBS’ iFly Loyalty.”
With the sophisticated 'rules engine' embedded in the system, the airlines are able to make innovative changes to their FFP with no technical and professional help. iFly is the only system in the world to offer such a functionality. iFly Loyalty’s SOA architecture ensures that the application is fully scalable and ensures easy interfacing to disparate systems. The software is the outcome of multi-million dollars investment fuelling two years of R&D at IBS. The solution is unique, since a Core Group of Influence (CGI), consisting of leading airlines, shared requirements and was involved in product development. iFly Loyalty enables the airline to keep pace with the constantly evolving preferences and expectations of FFP members thus improving the airlines revenue and market position.
