Testimonial

Crew management is a key factor in operational excellence for an airline. Many issues that can affect efficient crew management are at play at any one time. Flight and crew problems mean extra cost for the airline. This system is therefore mission critical to our organisation.
This UNIX based solution replaces our current mainframe system with a sophisticated, software application that assists our flight operations staff to make better informed decisions faster.

AirIT partners with IBS for CUPPS functionality for EASE™ platform

Air-Transport IT Services, Inc. (AirIT), a key provider of diversified information technology products and services to the air transportation industry has partnered with IBS to develop and implement CUPPS functionality with the EASE™ (extended airline system environment) common-use infrastructure platform.

EASE™ allows airports the flexibility to accommodate any airline on any EASE™-equipped gate podium or ticket counter. The addition of the new CUPPS functionality means that airports and airlines will now have three choices of operation on the EASE™ platform - utilize their own proprietary operating environments, a legacy common use application or a newly developed CUPPS-based application. The options broaden the appeal of the EASE™ solution by further increasing the flexibility delivered by the EASE™ platform.

A key differentiator of the EASE™ platform and its new CUPPS functionality is backward compatibility.  As airports choose to move forward with CUPPS implementation, one of the largest obstacles will be transitioning from existing environments to new CUPPS applications. The EASE™ platform will allow airports to accommodate any airline in their existing proprietary environment or their legacy common-use application while simultaneously supporting airlines that choose to develop new CUPPS applications.

AirIT and IBS have proven functional compliance of CUPPS through a rigorous pilot program conducted at Sacramento International Airport (SMF). CUPPS was deployed and tested at SMF beginning August 17, 2009. CUPPS functionality and compliance was demonstrated using iFly Res fully integrated to the EASE™ infrastructure platform.
