Decision-making gets simpler
It is an imperative need in today’s business to have key information at the fingertips of decision makers. Using the power of modern technology, your company can have this significant edge over your competitor by analyzing data that already exists in your organization. Financial summaries, Product trends, Corporate performance, etc. through dashboards and scorecards have become the order of the day. Such precise decisive information is inferred from data that reside in the organization in various systems. These data are often divorced from a business context. Data when transformed into valuable information become powerful tools in the hands of the management and enables them to drive their business forward with a clear vision.

Case Study 1
About the Client:
A national carrier and one of the fastest growing airlines in the world, this airline flies to destinations across Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, the Indian subcontinent and the Far East.
Client Challenge:
The Finance department of the airline processes transactions at over 50 locations, based on station-specific business rules. These transactions include generation and processing of invoices related to services like fuelling, catering, over flying, landing, parking, among others. The Finance department also has the responsibility of preparing budgets based on planned rotations and past operational data. Generating MIS reports was a major challenge since it required data from different systems. These data had to be consolidated and reports generated to provide useful information to management.
IBS Solution:
The requirements phase of the project was carried out at the client’s location, by a team from IBS that comprised functional and technical experts. The final solution was delivered on Oracle 10g database with Business Objects as its front end to provide effective OLAP reports. The solution helped the customer in analyzing the revenue and expenses of airline operations, providing management information on route profitability and break-even factors for yield and seat load, apart from tracking the performance of the airline against the budget.
Case Study 2
About the Client:
One among the top Charter airlines in Europe.
Client Challenge
The airline thrives on special service requests that come from passengers. It is important to know the kind of services that are more in demand during a particular season or route or by a category of people. The airline uses this information to ensure that frequently used services on a route/ season are available on request. This also helps optimize the airline’s investment.
IBS Solution:
The requirement was thoroughly analyzed and the right tools were suggested to arrive at the solution. Information was derived from the existing data through Business Objects (BO). BO reports has helped the Airline staff improve the efficiency of operations, and also provide Management information in terms of revenue realized per special service category, and also Communication centre staff’s productivity.
