Shell International Exploration& Production (SIEP) to implement IBS' solution world-wide Print E-mail
Mumbai (India), Nov 25: IBS Software Services (IBS), a leading supplier of software products and services to the global travel transportation and logistics (TTL) industries, has announced a long-term agreement with Shell International Exploration and Production BV (SIEP) based at the Hague in the Netherlands, to implement ‘iLogistics’ in most of its operating companies world-wide. .

Canadian airline WestJet is aiRES launch customer Print E-mail
Cochin (India), Oct 5: IBS Software Services today announced that WestJet, the No. 2 Canadian airline, has entered into a multi-year agreement for aiRES, the new generation Passenger Services System (PSS), developed by IBS in collaboration with Cendant Travel Distribution Services (TDS). WestJet, which is Canada's leading low-cost airline, was also named Canada's most respected corporation for customer service in 2005. aiRES (formerly known as iRes) will replace WestJet's current reservation, scheduling and check-in systems.

Making the announcement, Mr. V K Mathews, Chairman and Managing Director, IBS said, “This is a very important milestone in the business life cycle of aiRES. WestJet is one of the most admired corporations in Canada and a highly respected name in the airline industry for innovative business thinking and practice. IBS opens its sixth development centre in Cochin Print E-mail
Cochin (India), Oct 3: Shri. Oommen Chandy, Chief Minister of Kerala, today formally inaugurated IBS' software development centre at Infopark, Cochin. This is IBS' sixth centre in the world and second such centre in the state.

iRes is now aiRES Print E-mail
Trivandrum (India), Aug 31: iRes, a next-generation Passenger Service System (PSS) being developed by IBS in business collaboration with Cendant TDS, has been renamed aiRES. Pitched to become the industry standard PSS of the future, aiRES is designed to replace more expensive and less flexible legacy-based PSS currently in use in the airlines industry, and will dramatically improve airlines’ efficiency, service quality, profitability and sensitivity to market changes. Cendant TDS is IBS’ strategic business partner in this mega initiative, responsible for the sales, marketing, product management and customer relationships.
aiRES is slated to go live later this year for its first client.
 
Spanish airline, Iberworld, extends TopAir contract Print E-mail
London (UK), Jul 26: Spanish airline Iberworld has extended their contract for the use of TopAir, an airline flight operations system. The contract was signed with Avient Solutions, IBS' Global Centre of Excellence for Flight Operations operating out of London.

According to Mr. Jose Luis Cardona, IT and Quality Director at Iberworld, 'Avient has provided us with excellent service. Their support has enabled us to successfully integrate our other IT systems with TopAir.' Iberworld has been successfully using TopAir for the last four years, and have now opted to continue with the system for another three years. Avient has provided extensive support to Iberworld in integrating its IT systems and building complex crew rules into TopAir which has resulted in an error-free environment and a reduction in both manual effort and redundancy. In 2005, Avient built an Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS) interface, which provides flight operations with real-time flight information.

Among TopAir's other customers are Farnair (an alliance of European Cargo airlines), Darwin Airline (Switzerland), Windjet (Italy), Hello AG (Switzerland), ItAli (Rome), Alpi Eagles (Italy), Swiss (Switzerland) and First Choice Airlines (UK). Having established itself in Europe, IBS is now aggressively moving to market TopAir in the Middle East, USA and the Asia-Pacific markets.
 
Three Leading Airlines Join IBS' Next Generation Cargo Initiative Print E-mail
Trivandrum (India), Aug 24: Air New Zealand Cargo, Gulf Air and South African Airways Cargo have joined the Core Group of Influence (CGI) Forum, set up by IBS Software Services, to participate in the development of a next generation air cargo and logistics management system, “iCargo”.

IBS Software Services, a global IT Company providing world-class solutions to the Travel Transportation and Logistics (TTL) industry, embarked on this multimillion dollar mega initiative to build iCargo in 2002. The system is a new generation design using the latest web-based tools and multi-tiered architecture which will be a catalyst for change for cargo carriers within the logistics industry.

IBS together with Air New Zealand Cargo, Gulf Air and South African Airways Cargo have formed the CGI Forum to influence and validate the processes and functionality of iCargo to address the current and future requirements of the industry.

Italian airline, Blue Panorama, extends TopAir contract Print E-mail
London (UK), Jul 25: Italian airline Blue Panorama has extended their contract for the use of TopAir, an airline flight operations system. The contract was signed with Avient Solutions, IBS' Global Centre of Excellence for Flight Operations operating out of London.

According to Mr. Pecci, President - Blue Panorama, “With TopAir implemented in my airline, it allows me to get real-time information wherever I am. The flexibility of TopAir has proved its worth to me and my airline.” Blue Panorama currently uses TopAir to manage its flight scheduling, flight operations and crew management processes and has extended their contract for a further five years. Since implementing TopAir in 2000, Blue Panorama has increased its fleet from five to eleven aircraft, and with TopAir in place, it has resulted in a problem-free period of growth for the airline. Communication costs have been reduced and unnecessary expenditure has been curtailed.

Qatar Delegation evinces interest in IBS products Print E-mail
Trivandrum (India), Jun 23: A high-level delegation from the Qatar government visited IBS on 22 June 2005. The 18-member team was led by H. E. Ahmed Bin Abdullah Al-Mahmood, Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and H. E. Yousef Hassan Al-Sai, Ambassador, Embassy of the State of Qatar. Senior representatives from Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Energy and Industry, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Defence, Supreme Council for Economic and Investment Affairs, Qatar Science Foundation and Ministry of Civil Service Affairs and Housing were also part of the delegation. The team was accompanied by officials from the Central Government of India and Kerala State Government.

The team met the IBS top management, and was visibly impressed by the company and its portfolio of offerings. Of particular interest to them were IBS’ products iRes, IDAHO and iLogistics. The team discussed the possibilities of a mutually beneficial relationship with IBS, especially in line with impending airport expansions in Qatar.

The team from Qatar visited Technopark/IBS as part of an official visit to Kerala to explore investment opportunities in the state.

 
iPort and iLogistics strike a note of interest with Dominican Delegation Print E-mail
Trivandrum (India), Jun 11: A high-level business delegation from the Dominican Republic that visited IBS showed interest in its solutions for the Oil and Gas sector as well as for seaports. The team - Eddy Martinez Manzueta, Secretary of State and Executive Director of their Export and Investment Centre, Marcos Troncoso, President, Bristol Technologies, Carlos Morales Troncoso, Secretary of State, External Relations and Jay Nayar (Country Advisor of India, Export and Investment Centre) - visited IBS on 10 June 2005.

Of particular interest to them were IBS’ products iLogistics and iPort. V K Mathews, CMD - IBS, spoke on the advantages when companies implemented iLogisitics in their operations. The fact that the oil and gas industry was showing an increasing willingness to share logistics resources amongst themselves bodes well for the product.

The delegation later discussed opportunities for partnerships, the prospects for Travel Transportation and Logistics in the Dominican Republic, specifically a combined seaport/airport operation for passengers and cargo, government policies, e-governance, and the Cyber Park at Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic. The team from the Dominican Republic visited IBS as part of an official visit to Kerala in connection with upgrading of airports, ports and transport infrastructure in order to promote tourism in their country.
