The timing was perfect.

The airline industry was growing fast, and there was a pressing need for upgrading systems to keep up with the changing technology and business needs. IBS saw this as an opportunity to create new-generation technology solutions for the global Travel, Transportation and Logistics industry.

We diversified into oil and gas logistics management.

We acquired Avient Technologies (now Avient Solutions) from Honeywell International. Avient is currently IBS' Global Center of Excellence for flight operations. It is also the headquarters for our Europe operations.

In March 2006, IBS acquired the assets of Discovery Travel Systems, Virginia, USA, a provider of ‘Business to Business' ("B2B") travel technology systems to the cruise, tour, and vacation travel industry. IBS thus moved into the leisure travel and tour industry. In March 2008, IBS announced the acquisition of US-based Hotel Booking Solutions Incorporated (HBSi), a leading provider of IT solutions to the hospitality industry. IBS has acquired a majority stake in this Atlanta-based company.

The technology and business domain competence we’ve achieved over the years helped us develop two new generation products: aiRES and iCargo. Both replace the legacy systems used by the air transportation industry.

We next developed iLogistics. A path-breaking solution to manage and optimize the upstream logistics operations of oil and gas companies.
