05 October 2016, Hong Kong: In a record breaking achievement, IBS Software has been chosen as the industry’s choice for the global ‘IT Provider of the Year’ 2016 for the air cargo industry, for the fifth successive year.  IBS was conferred this honor after an eminent panel of experts chose IBS from among a shortlist of leading technology providers to the global aviation industry. The event was organized by the Singapore based trade journal Payload Asia.

Every year Payload Asia honors the very best in the industry by recognizing ‘airlines, airports and organizations that have risen above the challenges through market adeptness, innovative products or superior strategy to excel and make a positive impact on the market.’ The award was presented during a gala dinner and awards ceremony in Hong Kong and attended by more than 250 members of the air cargo fraternity. Radhesh Menon, General Manager – Business Systems IBS, received the award from Sunny Ho, Executive Director – Hong Kong Shipper’s Council.

Over 90 companies were short-listed for various awards in 22 categories. While the Customer Choice for each award was decided through online polls,   the Industry Choice award was based on a detailed assessment by 17 senior industry executives on a points system based on published criteria. All results – both Customer Choice and Industry Choice – were audited by independent auditing firm HLB Atrede. Other winners include Emirates SkyCargo (Overall Carrier of the Year), Singapore Airlines Cargo (Combination Carrier of the Year), Ethiopian Airlines (Rising Star Carrier of the Year) and Air Asia Cargo (Low Cost Carrier of the Year).

Developed in collaboration with leading airlines, iCargo is the leading cargo management solution in the industry. The highly modular solution supports all the IT needs of air cargo management in a single, fully integrated platform and can be tailored to suit specific customer needs. iCargo is part of the technology offerings that IBS Software brings to the air transportation industry in addition to IT systems for airline passenger services, flight and crew operations, airport operations and aircraft maintenance engineering. Ashok Rajan, Head of Airline Cargo Services LoB says “IBS’ promise to the air freight industry has been to offer IT platforms that are not 'stuck in time' but adapt to the ever-evolving paradigms, thus giving them the tools to offer the best to their customers. The fact that we have been winning the Payload Asia award for five years in a row is a testament to this. This victory also proves that we have stayed relevant and maintained our leadership through continuous investment and innovation.”
