IBS ventured into the oil and gas logistics domain by developing a Helicopter Flight Scheduling System for a consortium of oil and gas majors in the Gulf of Mexico. This system enables the sharing of helicopters and seats between partner oil and gas companies. It also supports all aviation-related processes of the upstream oil and gas industry including route planning, flight scheduling, dispatch, invoice reconciliation, cost allocation, incident management, performance and benchmarking. In 2003, the system facilitated the reservation and movement of approximately 200,000 passengers and numerous loads of cargo to as many as 100 offshore locations.

Subsequently, IBS developed a Marine Voyage Control System for one of the largest oil and gas companies in the world. This application helped automate all marine and terminal-related processes of the upstream oil and gas industry.
