Technical Architect

Java architect position with .Net experience.

Location – Memphis

Leveraging your strong technical expertise and analytical skills, you will work closely with Build Managers, Enterprise Architects and cross-functional teams to assess the architectural impact of business requirements on underlying Hilton technology capabilities and platforms, identifying risks and issues with mitigations.

Other key priorities are listed below:

  • Provide leadership in delivery of project and initiatives
  • Lead initiatives through the standard methodology from project approval to deployment
  • Lead internal and external partners in strategy and project initiation, architecture, requirements analysis, design, project management and systems integration activities
  • Work with the various internal IT groups to integrate solutions components (e.g. custom architecture, enterprise information), scope cost, timeline, and understand implications on architecture
  • Provide guidance and technical leadership on software architecture and design to software development teams by referencing and enforcing standard methodology and approach
  • Adhere to Enterprise Architecture standards for the company including class diagrams, data models, business domain models, sequence diagrams, use case models and collaboration diagrams
  • Generate acceptance test requirements with designers, test engineers and user, to determine requirements are met
  • Write (in collaboration with the Solutions Architect) technical business documents such as software design specifications, system architectures and software requirements specifications
  • Assist the Director in providing technical expertise to Build Managers, Solutions Architects, and project-based Capabilities Architects to produce detailed use cases, data models and collaboration diagrams
  • Assist in establishing procedures and processes in relation to the architecture group
  • Design, implement and lead SOA enterprise initiatives
  • Design and build APIs to expose enterprise data for next generation products
  • Review, evaluate, and recommend tools including Open Source frameworks to simplify development efforts
  • Monitor industry trends and identify best practices and methodologies to implement in-house
  • Implement the direction given by executive management to ensure the overall strategic direction of the all architecture teams is consistent with and supported by Human Resources, Legal and Finance
  • Work with all architecture departments and confer with key stakeholders and departments so objectives are accomplished
  • Evaluate and streamline business processes to maximize efficiency and effectiveness within the department
  • Execute the directives of the organization’s mission, goals, and objectives and demonstrate them through ongoing and direct motivation, communication, group dynamics, and leadership
  • Manage effective partnerships with vendors, internal constituents and other departments to integrate solutions components (e.g. custom architecture, enterprise information) scope cost, timeline, and assess and communicate the impact on architecture
  • Assist in managing the overall architectural roadmap of one of approximately ten core Hilton technology platforms, object model, data model and best practices (for custom in-house solutions), portfolio of customizations (for packaged off the shelf solutions)
  • Provide guidance and technical leadership in solution architecture and design to external development teams
  • Assess adherence to architecture standards for the company including class diagrams, data models, business domain models, sequence diagrams, use case models, and collaboration diagrams
  • Assist in the effort to write (in collaboration with the Solutions Architect) technical business documents, e.g. software design specifications
  • Work within established departmental budget

Qualifications

To fulfill this role successfully, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:

  • BA/BS Bachelor’s Degree
  • A minimum of five (5) years of IT experience
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience working with MS SQL, .NET
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience providing leadership in delivery of project and initiatives
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience with enterprise methodology practices
  • A minimum of two (2) years of management or supervisory experience
