Trivandrum, 02 February 2006: IBS Software Services has announced its plans to take up floor space of 32,000 square feet at the Leela Infopark at the Infopark campus at Kakkanad, Kochi. This space will seat 350 software professionals as IBS expands its operations in Kochi. This is IBS’ second facility within the Infopark, having started its Cochin operations in July 2005 from the Thapasya building.
“This is in line with our aggressive ramp up plans. The space will be just enough for us to cater to our requirements for the next six months and the Kochi centre can seat about 500 software professionals. The IT industry is really buoyant in Kerala and we are in for exciting days ahead”, said V K Mathews, Chairman of the IBS Group.
“We are extremely happy that IBS, the leading software company from Kerala, has taken office space at the Leela Infopark. IBS moving into Leela Infopark is a recognition of the world-class facilities that we provide”, said Mr. Venu Krishnan, Executive Director of the Leela Group. IBS chose Leela for the world-class facilities it provides, its connectivity to the International gateway, modern architecture and facilities and a 100% power back up. Of course, the serene campus only made IBS’ decision easier.
IBS has expanded its operations in Trivandrum as well. IBS Trivandrum operates out of two buildings in Technopark that can accommodate close to 700 software professionals. Recently, about 12,000 sq. ft. of space was added at the Nila building, which houses IBS’ headquarters. As a first step towards actualising its plan to ramp up operations in Technopark, IBS acquired 5 acres of land in the campus in May last year.
In the coming financial year, IBS intends to recruit about 700 to 1000 software professionals. The additional floor space will help the company cater to its huge intake of software professionals. At the ongoing IT Kerala 2006, IBS has plans to recruit both fresh and experienced software professionals (engineering and MCA graduates) and business analysts (MBAs). With on-the-spot screening of resumes, tests and interviews at its Kochi office (Thapasya building, Infopark), IBS intends to hand out offer letters to selected candidates during the course of the event.
This recruitment drive is keeping in line with IBS’ plans to further strengthen its position as a leading global software company in the TTL (Travel, Transportation and Logistics) industry. With growing clientele and a need to keep pace with customer expectations, IBS has been on a recruitment overdrive. Its employee base has gone up by 250 professionals in the last six months alone. Lately, IBS has been a prominent visitor at campuses, job fairs and in IT intensive cities like Bangalore and Chennai, to recruit for its offices at Trivandrum, Kochi, Atlanta, London, Dubai and Sydney.
